Carol Jenkins, nationally-acclaimed TV news journalist and the founding president of the Women's Media Center spoke to me recently about where she sees American women today as we continue to ascend toward greater leadership positions in shaping our nation.

Inauguration Day for Barack Obama, our 44th president and the first African American to take what he described toay as a "sacred oath." We rejoice in this day and look forward to greater numbers of women and people of all colors -- black, brown, yellow and red -- to come together, as Obama challenged us to do to fulfill the promise of America.
